WASH Bumi Hade Program Improves Clean Water Access
The WASH Bumi Hade Program I–V was implemented in Bogor Regency from 2018 to 2023 through a collaboration between PT Tirta Investama and Yayasan Pembangunan Citra Insan Indonesia (YPCII). The program was designed to improve community well-being by strengthening access to safe drinking water, promoting sustainable environmental management, and utilizing technology to enhance community-based services.
One of the program’s key innovations was the digitalization of drinking water services through the development and use of management applications that support community-based water service providers. Systems such as the KPSPAM Tirta Berkah Sejahtera (KPSPAM TBS) Application helped improve administrative efficiency, customer management, water usage monitoring, and overall governance of rural water services. This innovation contributed significantly to the sustainability and professionalism of community-managed water systems.
In addition to improving water services, the WASH Bumi Hade Program promoted community-based solid waste management to create cleaner and healthier living environments. Through active community participation, residents were encouraged to reduce, sort, and manage household waste more effectively, helping minimize environmental impacts while strengthening environmental awareness and responsibility.
Over five phases of implementation, the program reached 4 villages across Bogor Regency and benefited approximately 1,791 people. The WASH Bumi Hade Program demonstrates how collaboration between the private sector, civil society organizations, and local communities can create innovative and sustainable solutions for improving access to essential services and environmental quality.
