SWA Program Expands Water and Sanitation Access

The Sanitation and Water for All (SWA) Program was implemented in Sirnagalih Village, Mandalawangi District, Pandeglang Regency from 2018 to 2019. Supported by PT Epiroc in collaboration with Yayasan Pembangunan Citra Insan Indonesia (YPCII), the program aimed to create healthier, more self-reliant, and sustainable rural communities through improved access to essential water and sanitation services.

The program focused on increasing access to safe and adequate drinking water and improving access to proper and safe sanitation facilities. Through the development and improvement of clean water infrastructure and sanitation facilities, local communities gained better access to essential services that directly support family health and overall quality of life. The program also promoted healthy hygiene practices by encouraging active community participation throughout the implementation process.

The spirit of the initiative was reflected in its slogan, “Pandeglang Toilet Self-Sufficiency Ready! Empowered with Heart and Independence to Protect Indonesia”, highlighting a shared commitment to strengthening community ownership and responsibility for environmental cleanliness and public health. Beyond infrastructure development, the program emphasized community empowerment and awareness-building to ensure sustainable long-term impact.

During its implementation, the SWA Program successfully reached 327 families, benefiting approximately 1,326 people. By improving access to safe drinking water and proper sanitation, the program helped reduce environmental health risks, support healthier living conditions, and contribute to the long-term social and economic well-being of the community.
